Front diff synthetic fluid?

Front diff synthetic fluid?
I have a 2005 Durango, AWD. The manual calls for regular gear oil for the front differential. Any problem with running synthetic? And does either deferential need a friction modifier? What do you guys think of Royal Purple? This changing it at every 15k is way to much! Thanks.
