Default New guy with a question and saying Hi

Hi Folks

I have an 07 5.7 Hemi which is in the dealership at the moment for a 70,000 Km service. The day it went in the engine shaped yellow warning light came on (no 26 in the book) and I asked them to look into it. They called me up to say it wasn't on anymore and which light was it. Also the brake light switch was faulty and needed replaced. They claimed they couldn't do any more diagnostics on the car until this was done and that a new one would cost $217 approx fitted. From what I have read I think this is an extreme rip off even for Dubai can anyone confirm what this would cost in the real world?
There are significant difficulties in understanding the garage staff here as they only speak a rudimentary form of English in a strong Indian / Pakistani accent so over the phone stuff is hard but I'm expecting to go back later today for an in person conversation.

Also what would be a routine requirement at this mileage? Timing belts etc?

Thanks

You can download a srvice manual at www.dodge.com . In the top right of the screen is an icon 'for owners', click on that and the next page will have a series of icons. In the middle of the page is 'service manual' that you can choose for your year and model,
