Question ETC light

I have a 2004 Durango (5.7 hemi) w/about 100,000 miles. While on the freeway driving back from a trip about 76 miles from home, my ETC light came on, started blinking and my idle started acting crazy. I didnt want to turn it off, not knowing what the problem was and drove home. The next day I took it to do a simple (free) diagnostic and a code for "low air' showed up. Now they want to do a full diagnostic for 200.00. Is there anything I could have them look into or fix without having to pay for this other diagnostic check? Also, Ive read about resetting the ETC, should I try this first or does there seem to be an obvious problem? thanks

Try to clean the throttle body and change the spark plugs if they are original to the Durango. You can also change the EGR valve with the plugs,
