Smile 2007 Durango Night Runner black chrome wheel paint ?

My 2007 Durango Night Runner's black chrome wheel is peeling off. Fortunately the chrome is intact and in perfect condition that is underneath the black paint which is some sort of tint, since it's a chrome clad rim, anyway my question is if anybody has an idea of how to fix this problem? Also what kind of paint is this anyway? And about how much will it cost to repaint the wheel? Thanks

It light be cheaper to buy new chrome plated wheels as they will last longer than painted ABS (chrome clad) wheels. Any paint for plastic will work as long as you scuff the old paint and plastic up or follow the directions on the paint can,

I know these can be fixed here are the pictures of how the wheel looks. The chrome part is not damaged at all. It's only the black plating or whatever it is that is peeling off.

Maybe someone else will comment on the fix, but that is the reason why I bought chrome plated ones for summer and used the stock 'chrome' clad ones for winter,

Niteshade will keep them semi-see through.

You could also PowderCoat them dark gray or black.

As for the peeling, see if Chrysler will cover it under warranty. If not, the are going to keep peeling and are goners as far is it goes now. No getting that back.

Winter driving is a biatch on wheels. Many have a second set for the winters just to keep the good ones looking good during the summer.

If warranty won't cover it just get some new rims. Unless you want to sand them down yourself.

I was at Autozone yesterday and they have a product made to fix your exact issue. It is a spray on and comes in a prep kit/box.
