Default 2000 Dodge Durango SRT v5.9 4x4

I just purchased this vehicle and have been reading about oil sludge being an issue.
This vehicle has 158K miles on it. It looks good under the hood and runs good.

What should I be looking for and if I find an issue, what is my solution.

Secondly, is there anything mechanical issues I should be aware or looking for.

Thank you for the opportunity to post.

first of all, i dont think its an SRT, just an R/T. i have a 2000 dakota r/t and i havent heard of any sludge problems with that engine. the intrepids had that problem with the 2.7l V6s. the 5.9l engines are rock solid, thats why they made them for so long, almost 40 years in production

i have to agree with that...the only time i saw any problems that came about relating to the oil was a 5.9 that hadnt had an oil change in almost 3 years.
