I have an '03 Durango SLT+ with 4.7 engine. Sitting at idle it will rev up and down from 500 to 1200 or so rpms. It seems to do better when I press the accelerator hard once and turn off the a/c, it then idles normally for a minute or so. I had it in the shop, mechanic said it gave off no codes, no engine light. But we went ahead and cleaned the throttle body and replaced the air induction valve. I t worked like new for about 2 weeks, now it is doing it again. My mechanic can't figure it out. Any ideas??? or should I just go to the dealer??? Oh I am new here and thanks for any help...

 

Ohh one other thing it has started dieing on me too in stop and go traffic, but runs great down the road, no missing or anything.

 

Change the EGR valve and check the throttle position sensor,
