Default Did anyone from this thread get any results?

I am a new member of the forum, but have visited many times in the past for various reasons. Recently my 2005 Durango began having issues where it randomly switches between AWD, 4LO and 4HIGH, even on the highway, but most often when making tight turns at 5 mph or less, like in parking lots. A thread on this forum provided me with alot of information from people that had their Durango in the shop for the exact same problem, and all of them said they would post the results after the mechanic finished his work (each mechanic having differing opinions of what the problem was), but nobody came back to the thread with any results. Here is the thread. Do any of these people have any results from their situations? I'm scared to drive my Durango anymore because of all the horrible sounding noises it makes oftentimes. If nobody from this thread is around anymore, does anyone else have any suggestions? Right now I would settle with someone telling me how to unplug the transfer case so the car stays in AWD until I can get the problem fixed. Actually, that should be the first thing I do. Thanks.

You can disengage the front drive shaft, but then it would be two wheel drive woithout AWD or 4 wheel drive. I would have a mechanic look a it and then maybe get a second opinion with another mechanic,

To be honest, taking it to a mechanic seems a bit redundant considering what the people in that thread went through. Seems much smarter to find out what ended up happening to their cars, and then either doing it myself or asking a mechanic to do it directly, without all the seemingly necessary guesswork...
