6 Disc Radio Don't load CD's After Battery Replace Help???
Hi, I just buy a 2006 Dodge Durango SLT, Battery gets replace and now the cd Don't load or mode buttom work, any advice going to be apreciate. TX
Some of these trucks, and many other Dodges have been equipped with 6 disc in dash units. My Dakota being one of them.
If this was an anti-theft measure kicking in the unit wouldn't work at all, not just a lack of CD loading. I'm not sure that these 6-disc units have that anyway. Mine doesn't and I don't recall needing any code on the many other Dodge 6-disc units that I have re&re'd over the years.
The Dodge 6 disc is known for having problems like this, but not usually from a power down/up. It usually happens when the changer is switching between discs and you hit a large bump while driving. The mechanism goes out of alignment at that point.
Are there CDs in the unit already? You many need to disconnect power from the radio and reconnect again, as a hard reset. Sometimes when people disconnect and reconnect the batteries, they can do so in a manner that causes quick voltage spikes and confuses the logic devices in the CD unit.
