Default 2004 & 2005 Transmission

Trying to do some research cause my girlfriends transmission **** itself and have been looking at junkyard and was wondering if a 2005 Durango transmission would work in a 2004 Durango w/ 5.7 v8. Also are there any sort of items that could be put into the current tranny to make it more heavy duty(if i would rebuild it).

Thanks
Jon

MDS needs to be considered when switching years.

Setups that HAD it, should KEEP it. Those that DIDN'T... SHOULDN'T add parts that HAD it.

Yes to Yes and No to No. If that is all correct, should be fine.

Multiply dispalcement system. It shuts down four of the eight cylinders during crusing speeds in order to improve mileage,
