Default Extended warranty.......

Just bought a 2005 Durango and I am currious about the extended warranty. The dealer said about 1200 dollars for the warranty. I do know that the price is negotiable. So how much are people paying for the extended warranty. Thanks

I paid $1,600 for the 7yr/85k miles Maximum Care warranty with no deductible. I compared it against Universal Insurance which offers a similar contract for about $2,250 with a $100 deductible and does not cover same parts and less mileage.

$1,200 is more than a good price if they offered the same that I got.

For detailed information about the warranty go to www.chryslerwarrantys.com (remember to include the "s" in "warrantys" the get the correct page).

regards,

when you bought your durango, wasn't dodge already offering the 7/70 powertrain warrenty. Mine came with a 3/36 bumper to bumper and then the 7/70 takes over just on powertrain. I saw absolutely no need to purchase an extended warrenty. I also plan to trade up before mine ever gets to having any problems.

Yes I had the 3/36 and 7/70. But because I'm planning to keep my -D- over 6 years I decided to go with the extended warranty. It's a Bumper-to-Bumper with no deductible and many features including road assistance. Main reason was electronics and A/C components. I'm pretty sure the powertrain will last me more than 7 years without a problem (knock on wood).

Regards,
