2004 5.7 Hemi oil leak
I am lost as to an oil leak that happened. My wife was driving the car and stopped because it was smoking alot from under the hood. Got it towed home. Had a look, oil everywhere over one side (L/H) of the engine. Heres what I know:
Definately engine oil,
Car runs and drives fine,
Can not for the life of me find where it is leaking from, neither can the dealer. It leaked approximatley two quarts of engine oil at such a high pressure, it blasted a hole 4" diameter in the sound proofing under the hood, in an area that approximatly line up with the dipstick.
Please help.

Did you check the oil level after discovering the oil all over the engine? Was it low, full or overfilled? Was the oil changed by someone you know and reputably trust? Thing takes 7 qts 5w-30. So about 7.5 with oil filter. Was the correct weight used? Sounds to me as there was to much oil in the engine or wrong weight of oil used and it caused pressure build up that was I'm thinking relieved up through the dipstick tube. Where is the majority of the oil thats on the engine (top side or bottom side)? Hopefully you haven't blown any seals.
Hope this helps, please keep us posted.

@ Indy, the dealer put the die in my oil ran it for 20 minutes, no leak. The dealer has been good in the past. I was concerned when I picked up the car and they had marked that all 4 off my really worn out tires are good, yet my new spare is bad.
@ Frog/FF. The dealer did the last oil change about 4 weeks ago. the oil was all over the top R/H drivers side(said L/H before, my mistake) of the motor, almost like a hose had gone at the front then it had blown the oil backwards, there was even oil on the A/C radiator couling. The engine oil level was low after this, it took two quarts to get it back into the middle of the marks on the dipstick. My thoughts where the dipstick, but it was still in place and I can not recall if it was correctly fixed in place, it didn't look unusual. The only other thing that bothers me is where the hole in the sound proofing it's above the dipstick, yet by the breather for the front diff, could the diff breather be to blame and the low engine oil was just coincident. I cleaned off the engine tonight and had another look. I noticed the plastic conduit around a wire harness that is directly over the diff breather looks like it has got hot.
Still at a complete loss, your help greatly appreciated.
