Default Brake warning light came on

Just purchased a 2008 Durango 4.7 flex AWD. While traveling home the brake warning light came on. Brake fluid was good turned off engine and the light went off. I had driven about 30 miles when it came on the first time. About 20 miles later came on again and then after 5 and 7 miles. Any ideas on the problem? I have only driven short distances less than 3-4 miles since then and no light. All the other posts I see deal with the ABS and Brake light.

Congrats on the purchase. As you might know, 2008 was the last full year of the 3rd gen Durango production when they built them in Newark, Delaware.

How many miles on your D?

Are you sensing any change in braking response or other vehicle operation when the light comes on?

Don
It has 70400 miles and I don't see any braking changes. Light just comes on but will go off after I turn the engine off then back on. I have been driving it around town all week and it never came on. I went about 15 miles out of town and it came on during the return trip.

My brake light came on a month ago a couple times. My brake fluid was low and filling it up fixed the issue.

Not sure what else it could be.

I took it to the dealer and they gave me a fault code of c1085 Vac pressure sensor circut high. But was not active so he could not tell what the problem is. Still have not got it fixed yet and I cant find this code on any list. Any ideas?
