Default 2006 Dodge Durango Car Trouble. Need help!

My wife and I went to run to the grocery store earlier today, and much to my surprise, our Durango wouldn't start. The lights, horns, A/C, and everything else work normal so I know the battery is not bad. There is a strange sound coming from under the hood (Sounds like a woodpecker going to town on a tree). I haven't been able to pinpoint exactly where it is coming from.

However, a little less than a week ago, we took our Durango into a Dodge dealership due to a recall. The recall was: Open Recall G07 2004-2006 Instrument Cluster. the correction was: Perform Instrument tests modify wiring and flash module.

Could my current issue be related to the recall? ANY information you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated.

Nah, the Cluster Recall has nothing to do with no start. All they do is remove the cluster, and relocate few wires, because it has potential to catch on fire.

If you try to Jump Start the Vehicle, and no luck, you probably need a starter. Lighting and Horns doesn't justify a good battery. The Starter needs 10 times more power than all those acessory to crank the engine.

Wow, I really feel retarded. I guess no one vehicle sounds the same when it turns over to start. I jump started the SUV and it seems to be working fine now. The odd part is that when we got in the SUV today to go to the store, nothing was already on, so I am not sure how the battery could have died.

Five years is a long time for a battery considering it is OEM,

Word of advice, don't buy those Value-line(cheapest) Battery u can find in part store. Get OEM or Top of the line battery like Die Hard, Interstate, Bosch, etc... u'll save urself from a "No start in the grocery store" for another 5 yrs.
