I've got a 2007 Durango that was broken into. There was enough damage done that I've got to get the steering column replaced. I've found a replacement but I've got a question before I install - Would I have to reprogram the receiver for the key for the new column or can I leave it as is?

I had problems with my ignition cylinder in that the key would not turn in the ignition if the wheel was turned slightly to either side. I had a locksmith rebuild the ignition and retain my original keys. You may need to swap your ignition cylinder out into the new column,
