Car won't shift when it's cold
I have a 2008 Dodge Durango 5.7 HEMI, when I shift my car from Park to Drive, it won't shift. The shifter seems like it won't engage and only when it's warmed up, it then shifts. During the Spring and summer, it's fine, no problem. Only when it's cold, I can't shift it. Has anyone had this problem?
I have seen in a past thread somewhere that the tranny takes longer to engage during the cold weather. Trying starting the vehicle. Waiting 5-10 seconds, then putting it in gear and let us know what happens.
When I start it up this morning, I had to wait at least 4 minutes before I can put it in gear. When I bought the truck new, I never had this problem. Now, I ran the onboard diagnostic where you turn the key in/ engine off position 3 times and it came back with no errors. Any suggestions is much appreciated.
While I am far from a trans expert, I would start by making sure fluid level is correct.
Trans fluid expands as it warms, and if the level is low enough the trans wont work until what is in there expands abit.
How many miles on the D, and has the trans ever been serviced?

I had my tranny serviced and had the fluids replaced and they told me there was nothing wrong. The only thing I see is that in colder weather, the rpm's go up a bit and once it hits around 800rpm, then it shifts, probably to prevent over revving in gear i'm guessing.
