I'm going to be changing out the front brake pads hopefully this weekend. Can anyone tell me if I need a certain socket or torx head to remove the slide pins? Hoping to get all of my ducks in a row before I get started.

Just doing pads, no shimmy/pulsing on stopping so I figure the rotors are OK.

 

12 or 13 mm socket/wrench no torx on our D's thank god. Get the harware kit to replace the rattle clips & some disc brake quiet.
