06 Limited Fog Light Assembly Replacement
Does anyone have any good instructions for replacing the fog light assembly in a 2006 Durango? My driver's side fog lamp is cracked and I ordered a pair of replacement assemblies online. I am having trouble finding instructions for replacing them. From the looks of the video I found for the 2005, I may just end up taking it to a garage. They removed the entire headlamp assembly to get the to fog lights. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
I have replaced both the fog lights in my wife's 2006. No need to touch the headlamps.
Copied this from another Dodge site, good instructions.
Step 1: Remove the 3 rivets that are located on the wheel well. The rivets are strong but brittle, I used a ultility knife and start to cut under the rivet and it will break off. Just be careful and wear gloves as you do not want to cut yourself. Im sure there is another way but this is my first time dealing with plastic rivets.
Step 2: Remove the bolts under the air dam there are about 6 or 8.
Step 3: At this point you can pull the bumper off on one side. You will need pull from where the 3 rivets were first, I used a screwdriver as its a bit tight but it will come off with no damage. The bumper cover has some tabs that you may have to watch and make sure they clear. At his point you should be able to pull off one side but not completely remove the bumper cover so that the fog light can be removed.
Step 4: The only thing holding the fog light in place is the locking tabs (located on the left and right of lamp) and the t20 height adjustment screw (located on top). When installing new fog lamp its easier to click the tabs in first then tighten the t20 screw.
