Traction light
Hi gang. My 2006 Dodge Durango Hemi seems to be doing great. The only problem is the traction light wants to come on when I turn right? Not all the time but especially when bumpy. This is happening on dry pavement? I asked them at the dealer about the issue. Their response was uh that should't really happen. I think I will have to hook up a reader to see if it happens while I am driving. The tires I run in summer are 265/65/17 the winter studded tire is 265/70/17. Did not happen in the summer...... I have a feeling it might be a sensor or something. Will this effect the 4X4 if I need to use it?
Thanks

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience a premature and momentary activation of the Electronic
Stability Program (ESP) system. The premature activation of the ESP system may or may
not be accompanied with the illumination of the ESP indicator lamp located in the
instrument cluster. The customer may experience the momentary ESP system activation
on a “clover leaf” type turn, at speeds of approximately 25 to 40 MPH (40 to 64 KPH). This
could also be described as a lack of throttle response or hesitation. Driving over speed
bumps at a slight angle can also cause the same ESP event accompanied by lack of
throttle response. The customer may also complain of low idle speed.
The customer may also experience MIL for one of the following Diagnostic Trouble Code:
i. P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit - Bank 1 Sensor 1
ii. P0344 - Camshaft Position Sensor Intermittent - Bank 1 Sensor 1
iii. P0116 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Performance

Some D owners who have the traction control have reported that this very issue can occur if the air pressure is not equal in all 4 tires.
You might want to make sure that all 4 are equal.
