Sounds like you have taken a reasonable path towards narrowing down the issue. It will be interesting to see if the stalling continues.

Since the battery is only months old and the issue has been around quite a while, we can probably rule that out.
I have seen reports though of a few folks who swapped a battery out only to find the new one was not up to snuff either.

Does it help if she were to fire it up and let it idle for a few minutes before trying to head down the road?

Have you considered the possibility that the fuel pump is doing something funky on the first start creating a lack of pressure, but then smooths itself out on the restart?

Yes, I have done most of that. Battery is good and has been tested. Update though, I reset the computer after it went into limp mode- battery disco and key on. Yesterday did changed the plugs and cleaned TB, and changed oil. I must admit, she is running like a champ. Wife also reports no problems at all. So luckily I believe it will make it for a couple of years more or at least until time for a new vehicle!
