Hi so i have an 04 durango with the ves system. The stereo is the 6 cd am fm stock head unit. The dvd player has aux inputs so i like to listen to music though it with a rca to 3.5mm adapter to my mp3 player. Problem is that when a song starts it wont play anything for about 3-5 seconds usually, and the radio says no disc loaded. If a disc is loaded in the dvd player then it starts to play that until it realizes music is playing through the aux input. Then the song begins to play for a while. If a song starts out quiet for a while it wont play any music until the song gets louder. The mp3 player is turned up completely and it does this with any device. Is there some setting i should change, is this normal, or am i just doing something stupid? thanks any help is greatly appreciated!

 

The dvd player doesn't select the aux input unless there is a signal from the inout device, which takes a while to register. So this is perfectly normal.

 

thats fine if its normal but its really annoying, is there any way to stop it?
