Pauls:

Sadly, the first year of the Gen 2 D (2004) is known for the rear quarter panel rust as well as rust on the rear hatch. In some cases, it was bad enough before the 5 year 100K rust warranty ran out and repairs were made by a dealer at no charge.

Both of my rear quarters have been repaired twice so far. Once at my cost and once for the original owner presumably under warranty.

The rear hatch is a pricey item and is in the range of $1500-$1700 to paint and replace.
The repairs to my quarters was $450 at the local Carstar. A little more than a year later though, the paint is bubbling again.

If you have the RAQ in dash 6 CD changer, it can be repaired by replacementradios.com.
Not sure what you mean by CD changer in the back?

pauls:

The quality of the repair of my 6 Cd in dash RAQ unit was fantastic from replacementradios.com.

I do not know who might service the DVD roof unit which my D also has.
Possibly the issue is in the radio up front as they are tied together.

Provide more info about what the DVD player is or is not doing.

When working correctly, either part will work stand alone, or you can play the audio from the DVD unit through the radio system so it sounds kind like a theater whilst the kids watch their show.
