Default hissing/air leak noise

I'm having a weird hissing sound on my 2006 durango. It sounds like its coming form the blower motor but it hisses when you lightly tough the gas Pedal. It does it with the A/C on or off. It definitely sounds louder when the A/C is on. I did see on the forums it could be a misplaced solenoid in the engine compartment. I checked that out and that seems normal. Please HELP!!!!

Which engine does your D have? Have a good look around the engine compartment in search of a disconnected or rotted/split vacuum hose.

There should be at least two coming from the throttle body. Or going to the EVAP system and one to the brake booster.

n8wch,
I have the 4.7 engine. I will check the hoses in the compartment. I've never checked yet when the car was parked and the engine was running.

This will be a good start to finding your issue. The 4.7 motor is packed in there as is the Hemi. Take your time and check all visible rubber hoses.

Be very careful though when doing this with the engine running. You dont' want to lose an arm or finger!!!!!

It is possible you could be dealing with an exhaust manifold leak as the 4.7 motor is famous for loose/broken manifold bolts.
