Exclamation MIL Light went on..

Hi Guys,

My Malfunction Indicator Light went on while I was driving. Engine seems as normal, open the hood, normal noise. Is there a concern problem or just a reminder light? i.e. oil change or tune up
Should I get it checked out by my mechanic or a Dodge dealership? Don't want to get hosed if it's a minor problem.

Thanks for any comments.

Steve:

Perform the "key dance" by cycling your ign switch 3 times from off to run within 5 seconds, and see what codes if any appear in your odometer display.
Make sure to leave it in the run position on the third trip forward, and then watch.

This will help us understand why the CE light has come on.

If you can't get the key dance to work for some reason, you can visit Advance Auto, O'Reillys, or etc. and get the code(s) read for free.

Went to the mechanic, needed a EGR valve replaced. Is this normal?

My EGR valve lasted close to 60,000 miles, but I replaced it along with the PCV for preventative maintenance.
