Default AC quotation

Hi,

My ac is working fine when driving, but when stopped at the traffic light the air becomes hot. The car vibrates a bit and the revs go up and down a few 100rpm.
The dealer service wants to replace the compressor, drier and front expansion valve. The evaporator and condenser are replaced last year. This is the quotation I received from them :

Parts
Compressor $736
Drier $145
Front Expansion Valve $73
AC Cleaner $10
Labour
Replace Compressor $119
Replace Drier & Exp Valve $209
Flush AC System $239
Miscellaneous
AC Gas $54
AC Compressor Oil $76
Flushing Material & Consumables $54
An expensive $1715 for an AC that only doesn't work when stopped. Does this makes sense or am I being ripped of ?

Thanks for your input !
Raf

They should have fixed it the first time and it should have a warranty for atleast one year.

RAF:

I question whether or not your fan clutch and/or helper fan on the AC evap are working correctly.
The fact that it seems to be ok unless you ares stopped is a red flag to assure these points are ok.

While the estimate does not seem too out of line given what they want to do, be sure that these things are needed and not just an effort to throw parts at it in hopes of fixing the issue.
