Default Replace 2006 4.7 Durango MAP sensor

So I was hunting around the other day and noticed that one of the 2 screws holding the MAP sensor in place was gone...or at least the head of it was...thinking this might be the casue of the mileage/perfomance woes, I thought I'd replace it. Took the other screw out and removed the sensor...but how do i remove the sheared-off screw body from the intake? I really don't want to ask the Dodge Boys to do it...arm/leg scenario is not appealing.

Also...the screw was plastic! I tried to grab the end of the remaining portion of it with a small needle nose vise grip, and it just squeezed tight and broke off the remaining bit flush with the boss on the intake. Now I'm screwed! Can't get a drill or easy-out in there because it's so tight. The new screws I got from the dealer are definitely metal, I don't know why the original would have been plastic...

Bolted the MAP back on with the one screw that was holding it there, hoping I can get to it this evening and tear some stuff off the front of the top of the motor and get to that screw...I honestly don't know if I'm gonna be able to do it...

Any ideas?

Maybe use J-B epoxy to weld it back on.

I'm actually thinking of using a self tapper and screwing into the remains of the plastic screw that's stuck in there...might work if I can get access to it. If I get the alternator out of the way I might have room. Plus the temp sensor is right in front of it...knuckles will be busted.

Update...after doing some searching around this site, I found that the Haynes manual is wrong about the MAP sensor mounting. It uses one screw, and a locator peg on the other side of the sensor. So what I thought was a plastic screw is actually just a locator. Hopefully, the new MAP sensor will be installed tonight and the D will be back in business.

Thanks to the folks in the Dakota forum...definitely a light bulb moment.

I know this is very very and I do mean very late to the thread, however I am about to replace the MAP on my 2006 Dodge Dakota 4.7 and I saw the same thing. I was like DAMN one of the screws is busted off and I was freaking out about how to get it out. This set my mind at ease. Thanks for the answer.
