Default soon to be owner questions!

Ok ive searching for a used durango for some time now and they are hard to find! I started out looking at an 04 hemi limited but after reading some thing online it seems like the hemi in that year loves to blow up. Is the a good enough reason to avoid that year or am i just being paranoid? Thanks for your help!

Hi Jon:

Don't be afraid of the Hemi. It is a good engine.
Don't know what your budget will allow, but I would try to go as new and low miles as you can find.

The front end was updated for 2007, and if I could have swung that I would have.

I do like my 04 very much, and it has been relatively trouble free in the 25k miles I have put on it.
It is on engine #2 though courtesy of a dropped valve for the original owner. Lucky for him, the 7/70 powertrain warranty covered $4600 of the $4700 bill for the repair.

@ jtrantow 19. Your probably right but i want to make sure i make the right choice.

@ n8ech. The dropped valve is exactly what im scared of. What do you mean because of the first owner is there a way to prevent this from happening? I love the 07 but i have to have a limited i have look at 3 and everyone in my price range has been beat up. The 04 im looking at now has 86k miles loaded for 10995.
