Key FOB Programming /w Sentry System
Hi,
I just bought a new key for my D. It is not programmed. According to the instructions sent by the seller, all I have to do is follow a simple instructions which consists on having the two oiginal keys plus the new one, and interchanged them while switching the ignition from Lock to On position in a given period of time. A small red light in the dash will inform me if everything was completely successfully.
The problem is that the new key is not getting programmed. The small light remains blinking while it is supossed to "blink - remain -blink - off" with the new key.
Having the two originals operating keys are important because that is the only way the computer detects you want to program a third key.
The seller recommended a "master reset". This, because he said "some cars came locked to not allow programming extra keys except when performed by the Dealer".
Can I do that by myself or is that something that I need to let the Dealer work with. I really had a bad experience with my Dealer and the nearest dealer, after that one, is still far from my location.
Any help?
Thanks!

Not sure if the direction from the key seller match the instructions from Dodge but here are the instructions from the owners manual just in case.
Customer Key Programming
You can program new keys to the system if you have two
valid keys by doing the following:
1. Insert the first valid key into the ignition and turn the
ignition to the ON position for at least 3 seconds but no
longer than 15 seconds. Turn the ignition back to the OFF
position and remove the first key.
2. Insert the second valid key and switch the ignition to
the ON position within 15 seconds. After 10 seconds, a
chime will sound and the Security Light will begin to
flash. Turn the ignition back to the OFF position and
remove the second key.
3. Insert a blank Sentry Key into the ignition and switch
the ignition to the ON position within 60 seconds of
having removed the second key. After 10 seconds, a
single chime will sound. The Security Light will stop
flashing, then turn on for 3 seconds; then turn off.
The new Sentry Key has been programmed. Repeat this
process to program up to a total of 8 keys.
