Default Parking Lot Problems

Thanks to anybody who is willing to give advice. I am taking the vehicle to the mechanic soon. I am new in town, Huntsville AL, and have yet to find one I can trust. Therefore I would like to have a few ideas before I 100% trust the mechanics opinion.

My vehicle is a 2005 Dodge Durango Limited 4x4 5.7L Hemi. It is 99xxx miles on it. The issue does not seem to be engine related, but I have occasionally heard a different tone from the engine during the troubles. My wife has complained of the following issue for weeks she always described it as the SUV, "not wanting to turn". I first experienced it yesterday and this is what I noticed. First the problem only happens at low "parking lot" speeds. I can sometimes feel it coming before it happens. The vehicle seems to lose significant engine power, but almost like it isn't distributing the power correctly. It becomes apparent when turning at these low speeds the vehicle does not want to cooperate and it takes a little persuasion in the gas pedal to get the SUV to turn. Usually when doing these turns the tires chirp slightly. The problem happens both directions. It is almost like the vehicle is probably distributing power to all 4 wheels. Please not the following; It happens only at low speeds, it is not consistent, but it is persistent, the vehicle runs like a charm in any other situation. Also, my wife found by stopping and abruptly going backwards then back to drive seems to immediately elimate the issue. Another thing I did today was put the SUV in park and toggled the 4wd dial through 4lock 4low then back to AWD and the issue never happened again thought many errands for the day. Again thank you for any advice

Sounds like it may be the "4LO kicking in" problem. Thread is here: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...o-problem.html
