Since I have been on this site, all of you have given great solutions so here I try again. I'm having a problem with my trunk gate opening (2008 Dodge Durango HEMI 5.7) when I hit the switch. Sometimes it opens, sometimes it don't. Let me explain.. When I hit the "open door" switch twice on my driver side door, it opens the trunk door. Now, when I do just that, all my doors open except the trunk gate. I have to hit the door a couple of times and try the switch and it would open. I tried spraying some WD-40 inside the lock mechanism and no such luck. Could it be the lock mechanism or the switch? Also, there were times where I started the car, hit my door and try hitting the switch and then it opens. There's no rust on the lock or the piece where it locks down. Someone told me to do the "3 back and forth on the keyswitch" and see if there is a code. I hear the motor when I hit the door switch twice. I'm puzzled now. Any help would be appreciated.

 

just sounds like the trunk lock actuator is going out (getting week) Put a new actuator on and It will be good to go again....
