Hi there!

My -D- is keeping the airbag indicator light on while driving. This is the second time it happens. First time it turned off after turning off the engine and waiting over 30 minutes. The manual just said to have the system checked by the dealer. Could it be something related with the front Passenger airbag sensor (page 44)?

follow the manual, take it to the dealer. The passenger side has one of those "smart" airbags that is supposed to determine if a person is sitting in the front seat and if they are heavy enough to deploy.

My 05 Durango has done the same thing twice.

1st time the passenger one was on. 2nd time both the dash airbag light and the passenger one was on.
Same as you, they went away after the engine was stopped for a few minutes.

I had it happend once or twice about a year ago in my 04.

 

FWIW I've had my '05 for about 7 weeks and have had it happen three times. It's headed back to the dealer...
