how to check for blown head gasket

I am in the middle of replacing the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and upper and lower hoses. Is there a way to check for a blown head gasket with all of these things off right now?

Check the oil. I believe it will look 'milky'.

It is easier to check with the radiator as they sell a combustion leak tester at auto parts stores. It looks like a giant turkey baster.
