Oil pressure light flashing
2004 ST 4.7l - Intermittently the oil pressure light will flash. When it first started it would only come on when it was really cold (sub 30*F), and then only when RPM's were down around 5-600. In the last few weeks it has gotten worse, to the point where it came on at 2k RPM and 80 MPH on the way to work tonight. The odd thing was, when I would let off the gas the light would go out, which is the opposite of what I would expect to see. It also kept dropping where it would come on, so at first at 80 it was flashing rapidly, then went solid for a while and I slowed a bit, then it went out until I stabilized the speed at 75, then it flickered and came on again, then when I hit the 65 zone it stayed off until I stopped and the RPM's dropped to about 550 at a light.
Can anyone tell me where the sending unit is mounted on these engines?
I plan to try that first, because I doubt very highly that the engine is actually low on oil pressure, and the RPM where the light comes on varies between 500 and 2100 RPM's. It has a fresh oil change, Napa Gold filter and is filled with 5w30 oil. The oil level is at the top of the crosshatch, and I did try slightly overfilling it but it makes no difference. The engine also never has any tap or other noise that I would associate with low oil pressure. It fires right up, regardless of outside temp or weather, and runs smooth. I really like this little thing, but this light is extremely annoying, especially since it dings everytime it lights, but it only started that after the G07 recall was performed.

It may just be the oil pressure sensor. They do go bad. I have had the same issue on my 1996 Ram 1500 with 5.2L. Over time the pressure will begin to blow past the sensor out the threads of the sensor. When you replace the unit, add a little RTV tot he threads.
Lectric:
You will find the oil sender threaded into the block close to the oil filter. Both my 01 4.7 and my 04 Hemi had bad senders at some point.
Unless you are hearing metallic noise from the inside the engine indicating oil starvation, I say the sender id the culprit.
