High RPMs at Start
I'm sorry I have looked through all the posts I can. I have a 04 Durango 5.7 hemi that when I start the RPMs jump up to 2000. They almost immediately drop back to 600. I know this has to be high...right? So I'm thinking that the throttle body is going bad but I'm not sure. I quess if anyone what would cause this I'm all ears.
Thanks
Kyle

I have cleaned the throttle body...even though on the outside of it says not to clean it. I have given it a tune up. I just took it to the dealership and they were supposed to look at what was causing it but they seemed to do everything else but that. I went ahead and order a new throttle body so I hope that is the problem.
*Update*
I put on the new throttle body and that did nothing. I'm at a loss with this problem. I'm not sure where the vacuum lines are on this motor? I've also read that it might be an air leak in the intake... If anyone has any suggestions I'm reading to try them.

Yes but mine will go all the way up to 2000-2300 rpms at the first start of the day. Then at every start there after it will jump to 1800-1900 rpms. I wish for 1200 right now.
