Default cracks in factory aluminum wheels

I have an '05 SLT with the factory aluminum wheels and at @85,000 miles the right rear developed hairline cracks in the rim area in the back of the wheel and started losing air. I replaced that rim with a rim from Ebay that was in excellent condition. That was about 6 months ago. Now the left front developed the same problem and I am replacing that rim with another one in really good shape from Ebay as soon as it comes in. Is anyone else having this problem? I like the looks of the rim but if the factory wheels have a history of cracking maybe I would be better off with aftermarket. Any comments would be appreciated.

I have never heard of this happening on cast wheels, but I am no expert.
This sounds like a safety issue. Have you checked with a dealer to see if there is some mandated safety replacement?
