Angry Electrical System is Possessed

2006 Durango 5.7L Hemi, 54,000 miles

Several electrical items go on and off by themselves. Windshield wipers, radio, air conditioning, dash lights.

It spent almost 3 weeks and the dealer and they replaced the ignition switch and the Front Control Module. Have only had it back for a day and it is having the same issues.

Any suggestions would be wonderful.

Hi Robin:
Sorry to hear you are having this issue at all, let alone in a D with only 54K on it.
When similar problems came up on the Gen 1 Durangos, the culprit usually was the CTM computer.

The Gen 2 Durangos are a whole different ball game though, and do not use a CTM. I believe the Forward Control Module handles the functions that the CTM did plus a host of others.

Do make sure that your battery is in tip top shape and have it load tested. A flaky/dying battery can cause all kinds of weird electrical issues on our Durangos.

Please keep us posted on this and let us know what they find.
