Default 2007 Durango LTD Battery Light / Alternator

My wife has 2007 Durango Limited that hasn't had any issues up until now when her battery light started coming on and off... I took my Innova 3220 Digital Multimeter Tester out and tested the battery load test with the vehicle running and it read about 12.02 - 12.06, so I assumed that the alternator was bad...

Checked the battery when I was taking the alternator off and my battery charger said initially that it only had a 10% charge but after a while it was reading 90% + charged.

Put the new Auto Zone alternator in and threw the tester on it and it was putting out about 13.85 - 13.95 volts so again I assumed PROBLEM SOLVED!!

Took the SUV to the store and as I'm leaving - BATTERY LIGHT is on again...?? I rev it up and it goes off... Then comes on again as I'm driving!

I got home and the tester said it was only putting out 9.5+ volts... Think the new alternator was bad or should I check somewhere else...??

Well... As it stands so far... FALSE ALARM!!

I took the "NEW" alternator to Auto Zone for a replacement and it turns out they had sold me someone else's USED ALTERNATOR as a new one!! This "NEWER - NEW ONE" was super shiney and had stickers and tags and connection protectors on it and everything...?? DUH?! LOL

Tester read 14.35+... Took a ride and tested it again... ALL GOOD SO FAR!
