Default 04 Durango Intermittent A/C

My 04 Durango 5.7 Limited has been acting funky with the A/C. I have the computer adjusted temps and not levers or switches. Twice in the past week I will start the truck up and the A/C will not engage. Even if I push the A/C button so the snow flake comes on the display and no cold air.

Once I shut the truck off and start it back up it works just fine. The A/C engages and starts to blow cold air. I have no idea where the problem could be stemming from. Relays, actual controls in truck, ???? Anyone ever have this issue?

Straight:
Sounds like you might have the onset of a clutch issue on the compressor.
What kind of shape is your battery in though first off.
Anytime there are electrical issues with a Chrysler product, we always want to make sure the battery is up to snuff via a good load test.
If the battery is the least bit flaky, all sorts of weird electrical behavior can emerge.
My 04 has the manual version HVAC and I am thankful for that.

Check out the battery and get back to us.

My battery is only about a year old now. Prior to switching out the battery, your right I had some very strange electrical issues with the radio. I can't believe that it would be a battery issu, but it could be. I have not had the battery tested but I could do so.

My A/C has done the same thing a handful of times. Works great once you restart it. Odd behavior.
