Engine Noise
Hi
I get a sparking noise in the morning and than goes away after 30 sec to min. I have a 2009 Durango. The powertrain warranty in the Middle East is not valid after 60000km or 30000miles. Therefore, should I worry about this issue. I dislike the dealer here because they over-price the parts and labor....I don't have the tools or know-how on removing cover of motor. What should I do??
Any help is appreciated...

I think they want to use the ultra thin oil to boost fuel economy. Obummer wants the CAFE (corporate fuel economy) to go to 54.5 mpg by 2025. This means lighter and smaller vehicles with multiple gear (at least 8) transmissions. I have a wife and three daughters and we can not fit into an economy car and have a Suburban that might get 13 MPG. I agree that my Coronet R/T with 4.10 gears and three speed burns through gas at 8-10 MPG using racing fuel at $8.00 a gallon is a waste, but it is my waste. I am not worried about the cost of gas as I chose to drive it for fun. No smog, PVC or any other emissions on it. My wife 2011 Suburban is clean breathing 5.2 liter V-8 that does not get much better gas mileage than a vehicle 40 years plus older. I know you are in England and our vehicles may have different sanctions than they do here, but socialism is a disease and it will spread until we no longer know what freedom means. A spoonful at at time:
Soviet Prime Minister Nikita Khrushchev:
“We’ll spoon feed you socialism until you’re Communists and don’t even know it! . . . We assist your elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of Socialism, until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism. Maybe not you, but at all events the day will come when your children and your grandchildren will surely live under communism!

I have said for years and years, why don't they add more gears to V8 autos, US V8's are generally a lazy engine, but can be made to perform on demand, but by adding extra gears especially for long distance driving, on motorways, sorry freeways, makes a lot of sense.
I cant complain, i choose to drive a US V8, on tiny European roads, It's not the most refined SUV, but it's certainly good value, compared to a Range Rover, you get a lot for your money, I run it on LPG, and money wise it does 52 mpg, on long runs, on motorways, at a nice steady 65-70mph so i am only 2.5mpg off the 2025 target. ( I am doing the calc's on Imperial Gallons not US gallons
There are no sanctions as such, only road tax, which is £225, which is ok, because every car imported into the UK, that is of none European spec has to have it's rear lights changed, ie Amber indicators, rear red fog lamps, no front amber running lights, this is called SVA, Single vehicle approval, and as such is a very simple procedure. Had i brought a V8 Range Rover, BMW, etc European/UK spec, the road tax could be as much as £700, or may be more, not sure.
The way i see it we are probably the last generation to have the luxury of being able to buy and run a V8, so make the most of it while you can.
AS far as politics is concerned my view is " does not matter who you vote for, or who gets into power, they are all without exception, out to shaft every one." I cant remember the last time i voted in an election here in the UK.
We have since the turn of the 19th century had a socialist political party, called the Labour Party, who are now just Champagne Socialists, and the Tory party, who bow to, Banks, big companies etc, they are the same the world over, there will never be any change....The rich get richer and everyone else stays the same or gets poorer
