I just purchased a used 2006 Durango. Love it; however the dome lights don't come on when the doors are opened. The lift gate light comes on but not the front or second seating lights. I took it to a dealer; which they determined a recall had been done in 2007 involving the re-routing of the instrument cluster wiring. They sent a request to Dodge to have this fixed under the recall. Dodge responded & claimed the trouble I was having did not indicate it had anything to do with the recall & a new instrument cluster must be installed. The dealer says the total bill will be $850. Has anyone had any luck getting this taken care of through the recall? Or is there a cheaper fix? I already have to pay for the 2 hrs. that the dealer spent trying to diagnose the problem. Any suggestions?
