Default Bits of plastic in oil - timing chain guide?? or???

Hi
I found some little bits of black plastic in the oil of my wifes 04 wih the hemi when I changed it last - some very small - flakes of big pepper sized - some a fair bit bigger - dozen or so of the bigger ones. Could this be from a timing chain guide? - or what else? I would like to have an idea if I should fix or dump - it has over 300,000 Km so...
Thanks much

i can tell you firsthand experience my g/f has a 04 Saturn Ion and she had to change the timing chain on it and just did the chain and not the whole kit. over the winter she tried to start it and it revved high for a few seconds and she turned it off. then it wouldnt crank over at all. i tried new coil pack, cps, and finally found out the guide shattered and every single valve was not seating at all and 2 valves broke off at the head. that cost me buying a Typhoon instead i got her a new 2.2 ecotec. im still upset about that to this day.
