PCV valve questions/mpg
i've had the durango for about a month now and i've been getting 12.2 mpg tonight i stopped by the parts store and picked up a bottle of throttle body cleaner. i got home and decided to check PCV valve and it has a LOT of gunk in it but i can still hear/feel it working. Ill pick up a new one because in my opinion it can use it. there is oil on the air filter as well from the "breather" hose. is this normal for a hemi? I am also curious as to the location on the PCV valve as to its ability to work. I have a 69 GTO judge and other GM vehicles that had a hose coming off the pcv valve to somewhere in the intake but with this just screwing behind the throttle body how does it let the excess pressure release and where does it go? so far i've put new brakes and rotors all the way around and checked tire pressures when i had the tires off and i'll clean the tb and replace pcv valve. it has 147k on it and plugs are unknown condition wires are marked 04 so im assuming those are factory wires. have new plugs and wires on the way i went with taylor 8.2mm (10.4 seems overkill for a stock truck) and i decided on factory copper plugs. thats pretty much all of the small stuff i can think of to get mpg where it should be. i forgot to mention all fluids are fine as well.
well i see how the PCV valve works now that i took it out and had light so that part is answered
