Electrical Issue / Battery Drain/ Radio Staying on
Hi all: My 2004 Hemi Durango is acting up. The battery is completely draining after several hours and the radio and accessory outlet is not shutting off after key is turned off and the driver door is opened. I have been manually shutting off the stereo and unplugging my fuzz buster but the drain continues. There was also a recent issue with the driver door lock not working but I was told that this was probably fixed now as we took the door panel off and it appeared that there was a loose connection to the door sensor which we secured back in place. I'm thinking I may need to bring it to a dealer to have them do an ignition-off draw test but the new issue with the stereo not turning off with the key off and the driver door opened seems suspicious. It also seems that the stereo and/or factory amp may be coming back on since I did come out to find my stereo on once even though I had turned it off. To complicate things further, I just had an aftermarket car starter put in... Has anyone ran across this issue(s)?

There are recalls on the 2004 for this problem. Call your dealer with your VIN o make sure all recalls have been addressed.

There are not open recalls but the focus is now on the recent car starter installation. They are thinking that they tapped into a power source which is preventing the control module from going into sleep mode. The car starter guys are going to wire it direct to the battery to see if the control module starts going into sleep mode...Thx for the replies and I will provide an update once I figure out more.
