Default Really starting to hate this truck!

The victim of my hatred is a 07 Durango with the 5.7 hemi

I am reasonably confident I have solved my ETC (Electronic Throttle control) issue. I have a friend that had a throttle body that fits my engine. After swapping and driving for several weeks, no more "lightning bolt" and limp mode performance. I repaired the park assist with a used sensor I got from a totaled Town and Country minivan. Life was looking good!

Now, I'm getting a ESP and BAS warning light, along with the traction control light. Two steps forward, one step back! The light comes on consistently, nothing seems to change in the way the truck runs or drives. Where do I start my diagnosis? From what I have learned so far in my limited research, this system is suppose to prevent trailer sway and body roll, along with improving handling in bad weather. The light come on in dry, wet, or cold weather, smooth or bumpy roads, pretty much anytime the truck is over 35mph.

At this point, I need to resolve this issue, along with my MDS 3401 code problem. Then I can move on to whatever next issue comes up!

Did you load test the battery?

So, you're "fixing" all of these problems without any sort of scan tool, any diagnostic manuals, using parts from salvage yards, YET frustrated with your resullts? I can understand why.

I'll hone you in a little. The ESP is just a strategy of the anti-lock braking system. Start looking for damaged wheel speed sensors, front end alignment off center or the steering angle sensor.

I have access to Chrysler Star scan tool, thats how I was able to determine what park assist sensor was defective. The only code that consistently shows up is the 3401 (MDS related) I replaced one solenoid due to white crud growing out of it, it broke when I attempted to remove it from the engine. Unfortunately, I only had one solenoid, the other 3 measured 12 ohms of resistance which is what the new one measured. The ABS works fine, plenty of opportunities to test it this past week. I did have to replace a brake light switch a couple days before this ESP/BAS problem showed up. The brake lights wouldn't shut off, pull up on the pedal and they went out.

I'm not throwing parts at this truck, hoping to get lucky. Without knowing exactly how the ESP/BAS works, its a little difficult to figure out why it DOESN'T. That why I'm here, trying to broaden my understanding. I understood how the ETC system worked, I was hoping there would be a TPS code or something to suggest that the accelerator pedal position differs from the actual or commanded throttle blade angle. No codes, throttle body had been previously cleaned in an earlier attempt at a fix. The throttle body was a educated guess, it was a free roll of the dice, what would you have done differently?

The battery is about 6 months old, it passed a load test with flying colors. The cables are clean and tight. As a matter of fact, I had to grind a little from the inside of the clamp to get it to tighten sufficiently on the battery post. The bolt was tight, but would still twist on the battery terminal. Once again, I was hoping maybe there was a electrical glitch causing this issue.

I'm a little out of date with some of the newer automotive technology, but not a idiot when it comes to common sense diagnostic procedures. I joined this forum hoping to learn how to keep my vehicles going. Any guidance would be appreciated.
