08 Nerf Bar Options
Howdy ya'll.
We just picked up an 08 Durango this last weekend. So far the wife is digging the ride (swapped out a 99 Crapstar), the Durango is quite the step up from her previous ride.
However, the thing sits at a most awkward height that makes the step rails very weird. Never mind the fact that the slightest bit of snow and you might as well be stepping on ice. The truck is too high to get in and comfortably if your on the short side, but the oval tubes are not low enough to make sense.
I'm guessing the 4" oval are stock? I'd like to put on 3" nerf bars, but I'm wondering is they use the same mounting setup. Meaning, I'll have a smaller step, but in the exact same position as current bars.
It would be ideal to get at least 2" drop going from the ovals to the rounds will have any drop at all.
The tubes on my 98 1500 ram have a 3" drop and is quite comfortable and provides a smooth transition from tube to truck.
The bars on the Durango are like those annoying 2" blocks people use in front of the stairs.
Wow...sorry for the long windyness.
