Computer-based scan and tuning tool for Dodge?
I am getting ever closer to buying an '08 Durango Limited.
Naturally, I have become addicted to this forum, reading until my head explodes and eyes bleed! Lots of good, and sometimes worrisome, information. Overall, a great source of information.
I've owned five or six jeeps and a couple of GM SUVs in the past, but am now stuck without one. My current ride is an '08 Passat wagon and the one before was an '05 Passat TDI wagon. When I got the first VW I quickly bought the VCDS (VagCom) tool so I could monitor everything, adjust settings to my preference, check and reset codes, etc. Now that I am about to jump back into an American-made SUV, I am looking for a similar software / cable tool for the Durango. I don't want to modify the engine tune but adjust things like set preferences for door locks, lighting, etc. My reading on the forum seems to indicate there is no such animal. Is that possible? What a bummer, if true.
Please tell me I have yet to find the magic thread that points in the right direction!
Thanks,
Jack

I found a couple. I'll have to go through my emails to find the link. I don't have those handy at the moment. I believe if you search for durango usb cable you'll get the company in the results. They sell an adapter usb for the CAN systems and then you buy a cd for your specific vehicle. Basically you can set/unset any setting except maybe the security.
Thanks for the fast replies, guys.
The KTPerformance product, from what I can see, is for engine tuning and does not allow me to code the rest of the car to personalize it. I've done a fair amount og Googling today but, so far, no joy.
I can't believe the EU is this far ahead of us!

did you see this breakdown? http://www.autoenginuity.com/images/...stem-Test.html
there are two other lists like that from this page: http://www.autoenginuity.com/product...mily-ei04.html
seems pretty complete to me.

Thanks, again, AZ.
My wonderful luck continues. The D I was eyeballing had every option known to mankind, was a CPO vehicle and clean Carfax. I made the mistake of trying to connect to the big cheese at the dealership and he was unavailable for a couple of days. Somebody closed on the car yesterday!
My own darn fault for delaying. I hope the guy that scored the D at Flemington yesterday joins the board so I can at least hear how much he loves it!
Thanks guys
Jack
