Fixin to buy
Hi all, new to the board. Can't belieive I hadn't found this site sooner. Been in 2 other dodge boards. Anyhoo, I am fixing to buy a 06 Durango. Maybe limited or optioned out SLT. What should I get / or should not get on the Durango? What's good and not worth it stuff?

The most important option is 5.7L Hemi, you won't be disappointed. It achieves the same or better fuel mileage when compared to the 4.7L, plus you get tons more performance. As far as other options, I have an 04 SLT, with the more practical options, trailer tow, skid plates, etc. I'm more than happy with what I got. I didnt' see the point in GPS and the DVD entertainment for $1200+. The 06 will have MDS with the Hemi, another great reason to choose that over the 4.7L.

Runner, I have a 04 4X4 Limited and I like the heated leather seats and the Hemi. I ordered it with the 3.92 gears because the Duranbe weights 6000 pounds and I like good peformance and I am getting 19-20 mpg on the highway and 13-14 in town.
I would also get the trailor towing package because you get a higher capicity cooling package with more goodies also. I did not get the nav system because they were not offering it at the time of purchase. But I ordered one from the dealer three months ago and installed it my self and I will tell you that that unit is worth every pennie. I did not want the dvd system because my kigs are married with there own fanily.
