Transmission shift hard going into 3rd gear sometime??

My transmission is shifting hard going into 3rd gear sometime it will shift smooth and sometime hard any suggest what may be the problem?
I was thinking taking to the dealership for a transmission service fluid and filter change to see if that help.
2005 Dodge Durango 3.7 119,258 miles .
Another question this model have a kick-down or tv cable where you can adjust you shift point as the preview model? Thank

i am NOT a trans expert. but how a trans releases one gear can effect going in to the next. try and check out the 2 gear band adjustment. i think it can be done on the out side. i have found that if the valve body has been modded the adjustment is not same as stock. on stock set up you might try a little tighter band setting. but ask an expert how far to test out.
