Default loss of all gauges on dash?

What would cause all the gauges on the dash to quit working for about an hour, and then return to normal? The indicators wouldn't work but the hazard lights did, as did the headlights and wipers. One major factor which might be the cause was we drove for about 6 hours through monsoon style rain. But the problem resolved it's self for the last 3 hours, and has remained ok since.

Any ideas?

wet electrical connections. I lost the rubber seal on some connector on the back side of my Saturn and now every time it rains my gas gauge goes bonkers until things dry out.

You could try some die-electric grease to keep moisture out.

Check for obstructions in all drain lines, especially those in the area of the windscreen vent area.

I guess I can put this one down to the very bad weather conditions, I will check all the drainage channels I can find, just glad the rest of the electrical equipment continued to function as it should, and we weren't stuck by the side of the motorway
