a/c compressor change 2005 durango
I am changing out the AC compressor due to the pulley bearing on the front having a catastophic failure.
I am a comercial refer tech so I have all the tools for reclaiming etc.
I am replacing the drier as well, but can't find any info anywhere that tells me how much oil (and what viscosity PAG 100 or 150) I need to put into the new compressor. ( it was shipped dry)
Everything was cooling just fine prior to the bearing failure so I know the txv's are good and don't need to be changed.
The only info missing is the compressor oil quantity and if I need to put any into the drier when I install it. (conflicting info on the adding oil to the drier.....)
The tag in the engine compartment only gives the refrigerant weight...

Per the 04 service manual, use SP-20 PAG oil in the following quantities:
Component:
A/C System: 210ml, or 6.2 fl oz.
Accumulator: 60ml, or 2 fl oz.
Condenser: 30ml, or 1 fl oz.
Evaporator: 60ml, or 2 fl oz.
Compressor: drain and measure the oil from the old compressor
Hope that helps!
