Default AFTERMARKET HEAD UNIT INSTALL HELP

I am trying to install a Sony CDX-M630 into my 2005 Dodge Durango. I bought the Metra wiring harness (gsxL Turbowire 80-6502) from Circuit City. I connected the harness (white plug) to the stereo (all colors appear to match up correctly) and connected the other side the the stock harness in the dash (gray plug). The only results that I get is the stereo face flips open and close when i press the button and I can insert and eject cd's. The stereo will not light up and I get no sound from the radio or after inserting a cd. I bought the antenna adapter thinking that maybe they ground the stereo through the antenna but no luck. I am really lost and could use some help. The label on the wiring harness package says:

80-6502
Chrystler 2002 to Universal
SMART CABLE

Two seperate people from 2 seperate Circuit City's have verified that this harness should work with no problem. I thought everything would be simple plug and play. Please let me know if this is the correct harness or give some tips on how to get this working so that I can put my dash back together.

Thanks in advance

I would guess that for whatever reason your yellow(main power) wire is not getting power. Whats causing it......... Bad radio, wiring harness adapter, you made a bad connection. I would look everything over again and check the connections.

hey man the newer dakotas and durangos do not have a constant hot wire to wire your kit into, meaning the wire that you have hooked up to the yellow wire coming from your stereo is not staying on when the key is off it also supplys the main power to the built in amplifier in the head unit the easiest way to do this is to splice into the heater controls right below where the stereo is there is a constant hot there but if you have never done anything like this it is best to pay the 20 bucks or whatever and have a tech at any car stereo shop do it
